Other 1963 Pontiac Tempests

In 1963, Pontiac engineers took a 1963 Tempest and replaced the 326 cu. in.V-8 with a Super Duty 421 cu. in. motor.

The car retained the rear mounted Tempest transaxle and got aluminum sheet metal on the front end.

Both Car Craft (below left) and Hot Rodding (below right) have done stories on the Tempest

Arnie Beswick was a famous Tempest racer and the subject of Jim Ibusuki's poster shown at the bottom. Jim Kolbrick built another '63 Tempest Convertible and ran it in Pro Street until it was stolen at Moroso Motorsports Park in 1997
